What is a kids meal

It is possible to book a ticket for children (3-12) in our calendar. The kids meals are mainly similar to the adults, but all alcoholic beverages are either removed or replaced with suitable non alcoholic options.

How do I find the meeting place?

All of our daily Copenhagen food tours, EXCEPT the West End Tour, start from Torvehallerne, Frederiksborggade 21, the entrance to hall 2, the one facing towards Frederiksborggade. The closest stall is Brioche d'ore, the French bistro. The guide will be holding a sign with Foodtours.eu and will look for you at all entrances at the start of the tour. The West End Tour will start from Vesterbrogade 49 at the stairs to the church.

I missed my tour, now what?

Tickets are not refundable and as we book the food in advance it is not possible to simply turn up for the next one. If you missed your tour please contact us and we will do our best to help you arrange another. This will involve a fee of 80 kr for the two hour tour and 250 kr for the four hour tour.

What happens if I am late for my tour?

The guide will wait up to 15 minutes at which point we will start the tour. If you know that you will be late please try calling us at 50 123 645. The tour starts inside the Market halls, in hall 1, so you can always look around for us. Tickets are not refundable after the tour has started.

Do you arrange private tours?

Yes. Please send your wishes to info.cph@foodtours.eu and we can arrange a private tour. Up to 100 people can participate in a private tour, but with more than 20 people we will arrange to have more than one group, each with a separate guide, starting and ending at the same time. This makes for a better experience.

Are gift certificates available?

Yes. Gift certificates are available on the booking page. Please follow our booking system through to the tour you wish to purchase a gift certificate for.

I live in the city. Is the tour still good for me?

Absolutely. As someone who lives here in Copenhagen you will be learning about the food culture and cuisine that surrounds you every day. You will also be learning many fascinating historical facts and stories that you may not be aware of. Plus, unlike our guests who visit from afar, being a local just means that you have more opportunities to go back to all the delicious food destinations that we will be visiting.

Are tours offered only in Danish/English?

At the current time our tours are only led in Danish,English and Italian, but with advance notice we can organize a private tour for your group with the appropriate language.

Are the walking tours given in bad weather?

All our tours are held rain or shine. In the case of rain we will be able to go inside many of the tasting locations and there are other places where we will be able to stay dry. We kindly ask that you please look at the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Tickets cannot be cancelled due to the weather.

Are young children allowed to participate on a tour? If so how much will I need to pay?

Children of all ages are welcome. As we will be going up some stairs, please make sure all strollers can be easily carried. Children under 12 can participate in the tastings for 500 DKK.

Where does the tour end?

The tours end where they started or close by. The Evening tour however, ends at our last stop but the guide will walk you back to the starting location if needed.

Is the tip for the tour guide included?

Yes. Tips are included in the ticket price. Although if you think the guide has made an extraordinary good job a small tip is always welcome:-).

Is the tour wheelchair and babystroller accessible?

Some of our tasting locations are up some stairs. It is therefore not possible to accommodate wheel chairs at this time. We are happy to arrange private tours with alternative stops however. Baby strollers should be easy to fold and carry up the stairs. There are no lifts anywhere on our tours.

Can I shop on the tour?

Yes. It is possibly to do some shopping at the locations. Please be aware that each tour involves a great deal of coordination so your shopping time will be limited. All tours start and end at Torvehallerne and you can have your purchases put aside for you there.

If the tour that I want to take is sold out can I get on a waiting list?

Unfortunately we haven't got a waiting list. We hope you can book a tour on another day. Please contact us and perhaps we can arrange a private tour for you. We often open for a second tour if one is sold out.

Are there food tastings available for vegetarians?

Yes. Our tours are vegetarian friendly. However, please notify us of your dietary restrictions when you purchase your ticket. It is possible to order vegetarian Open faced Sandwiches and organic sausages (the latter made of Tofu). On the West End Tour the focus is on the meat, so while vegetarian options can be arranged, you may be happier on the Culinary Experience.

Is there parking available near the start of the tour?

There is some available parking but as is the case in all big cities, parking is limited and/or expensive. We would recommend that you arrive by metro (subway)/train to Nørreport Metro/Trainstation, public bus, or taxi if you are not within walking distance. The Market hall/Torvehallerne is 1 minute's walk from Nørreport Metro/Trainstation.

Are cameras permitted on the tour?

Cameras are most certainly permitted and photos are absolutely encouraged except at Sømods Bolcher where they would like you to ask before taking pictures and where videos are never allowed.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?

Yes bathrooms are available at several of the food tasting locations, but it is always a good idea to use them before the tour starts as we may need to walk a bit before the first one.

How many people can take the tour?

The maximum number of people on a tour is 12. If you are a larger group please contact us and we can arrange a private tour for you.

What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?

Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies when you purchase your ticket and we will make sure that we accommodate your needs. Foodtours.eu cannot take any responsibility for allergies that we have not been notified of. Once the tour has begun it is not possible for us to arrange alternative tastings. It is therefore very important that you ask everyone in your party before booking about food exceptions.

What other beverages are served on the tour?

Each guest will recieve a bottle of water at the start of the tour. There will also be a small serving of wine along the way. Additionally, you have several opportunities to purchase a beverage along the tour route.

Is there a beer tasting included on the tour?

Yes, but only on the 4 hour tour. At Noerrebro Brewery we will taste 3 tap beers of 10 cl.

How much walking is involved on the tour? How is the walking pace?

Tours last either 2 or 4 hours and for the majority of the time we will be on our feet. The tours are led at a very casual pace. The area where we will be walking is flat and on the 4 hour tour there are two stops on the tour where we will be sitting for a combined total of 50 minutes. There are opportunities for short rests along the route as well depending on weather. The walking distances are approximately 2 and 4 km.

How much food is served on the tours?

That depends on the tour. On our 2 hour tour you will have enough food for a light meal. On our 4 hour tour we will serve you enough tastings for a hearty lunch that will not leave you hungry. You will also have 3 different tap beers of 10 cl.

How long is the tour?

The duration of the tour starting at 10 is 4 hours, the tour starting at 14.30 is 2 hours.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?

All tickets must be purchased in advance. You can purchase a ticket until the start of the tour. If you arrive "last-minute" it is possible to pay in cash to the guide, but we can't guarantee that the tour isn't fully booked. It is possible to call us on +45 50 123 645 "last-minute", but unfortunately we can't guarantee that it is possible to reach us just before the tour.
